Finding the Right Fit
When it comes to buying or selling a home, choosing the right real estate agent can make all the difference. Finding someone you trust, who understands your unique situation, and who will advocate for you throughout the process is essential. Real estate is about more than just transactions; it’s about relationships, empathy, and shared goals.
For me, being an agent is about helping clients find homes where they can thrive, create memories, and build their futures. My journey into real estate started with a love for houses and has been shaped by my own experiences, from raising three children as a single mom to building a career after going through major life changes. Each step along the way has given me a deeper understanding of what my clients need, not just in a home, but in an agent who truly has their back.
In this post, I’m sharing a bit about my background and how it’s shaped my approach to real estate. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am and why I’m passionate about helping others find their perfect home. After all, when you’re navigating one of life’s biggest investments, it’s important to have someone by your side who’s the right fit for you.
Part 1:
A Love for Houses and a Journey Through Nashville
I’ve called Nashville home for over 20 years. During that time, I’ve had the privilege of living in some of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods—West Meade, Bellevue, and Green Hills. My love for houses has been a constant, and over the years, I’ve owned and remodeled three homes. Each one was a new project, a fresh opportunity to create something beautiful and unique.
From the first time I picked up a paintbrush and dreamed up design ideas, I realized that my love for houses went far beyond just living in them. When I went through a life-changing moment—a divorce that brought me back into the workforce full-time—I turned to real estate. I knew I wanted to help others find their dream homes, just as I’d found mine. Real estate became a way to combine my passion for homes with a new career path, helping others create spaces they’ll cherish.
Part 2:
Embracing New Beginnings After Divorce
Starting over isn’t easy, but I understand what it feels like to rebuild. Going through a divorce in my 40s, with three young children depending on me, taught me what resilience really means. I know firsthand the challenge of securing a home on a single income, balancing work with family responsibilities, and providing the stability my kids needed during a time of transition.
This experience gave me a unique perspective. I don’t just see homes as investments; I see them as places of security, comfort, and new beginnings. When I work with clients who are also navigating major life changes, I’m not only here to help them find a house—I’m here to help them find a fresh start. It’s about creating a space that feels like home, a place where they can begin the next chapter of their lives with confidence and optimism.
Part 3:
My Role as a Mom and Community Volunteer
Being a single mom to my three wonderful children—Jackson, Sarah Beth, and Reed—is the most fulfilling role I have. Over the years, I’ve been deeply involved in their lives and in our community. I’ve chaired school fundraisers, led Scout troops, and volunteered at our church and with various nonprofit organizations. I believe in giving back and leaving a positive impact wherever I can.
Through all of life’s challenges, I’ve held fast to a core belief: live life to the fullest, chase your dreams, and always strive to leave the world better than you found it. I bring this same energy and commitment to my work in real estate. Whether I’m helping a family find their first home or guiding someone through the sale of a longtime residence, I see my role as more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a difference in people’s lives.
Real estate is about so much more than buying or selling a property. It’s about helping people find a place where they can build memories, experience comfort, and feel a sense of belonging. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do this work, and I look forward to helping you find a home that reflects your dreams and supports your journey.
